USAAF WW2 Flight Trousers: A-8/A-9
It wasn't until the end of WW2 that pressurized cockpits wouldn't be introduced until late into the war. Challenges dealing with the thin air and cold temperatures at high altitude required the adoption of extreme cold-weather garments. The two pants on offer display the evolution of gear used. The A-8 trousers from Eddie Bauer use down feathers. The later A-9 pants are a lighter and arguably more durable design thanks to the use of Alpaca pile liner, reflecting the direction U.S cold weather gear would take post-war.
