If you are a buff, swole individual with thick biceps or have wide shoulders, we recommend skipping this run. Our pattern resulted in smaller arms and armpit holes than expected when combined with the thick wool fabric. This applies especially to XL and XXL sizes.

Introducing the first woolen garment in AP’s USA-made Original lineup: the 22/85 Wool Shirt Jacket.
Based on classic, old-school wool shirt jacket designs, this piece is built to be a wardrobe staple for years to come. Lovingly crafted here in the USA (Garland, Texas, to be precise), the wool is 100% American-grown, spun and dyed by American Woolen Company. Check out their website, it's really cool and will let you see some behind the scenes of the manufacturing process.
The 22/85 features two slant hand-warming pockets at the waist and two button-flap chest pockets. Button cuffs and a full button front are also present, allowing for easy repairs and long-term serviceability.
The fabric weighs in at 22oz—a sweet spot that sits comfortably between common shirt weights and heavy greatcoat wool. Composed of 85% wool and 15% nylon, the 22/85 strikes an excellent balance between the natural performance of wool and the added durability of nylon.
Its buttons are made from premium Corozo nut, a hard-wearing natural alternative to crappy plastic buttons. In fact, Corozo outperforms plastic in a long list of categories: heat resistance, long-term durability, and even how well it takes dye. And, of course, it puts fewer microplastics into your balls.
As a nod to our roots as a surplus company, we’ve also incorporated Flecktarn fabric reclaimed from damaged shelter halves as supplemental material in the pocket flaps, cuffs, and neck. This adds structure and helps protect your skin from direct contact with the wool—especially appreciated if you’re sensitive to wool’s itchiness.

Care Instructions:
Do not wash. Dry clean only. Alternatively, hand wash in lukewarm water and hang dry. To get odors out, lay it outside in a safe and airy place. Do not hang when wet, as that may warp the wool fabric's shape over time.
Sizing Guide:
Please be aware that our XL and XXL sizes will not fit true to typical American sizes due to a small arm hole. We recommend either sizing up or waiting until a second run is complete, as we will be changing this to better fit larger builds.
